  3. Fall 2011 Applicant Pool • Transfer Students Applied – 17,217 • Transfer Students Admitted – 8,191 (48%) • Transfer Students Enrolled – 4,893 Data as of 9/9/11

  4. Selection • Northridge is not impacted for admission for transfer students • 60 transferrable units • Minimum GPA – 2.0 • Basic Subjects • 4 Basic Subjects must be completed by Spring for Fall 2012 • Transcripts should be submitted as soon as they are available

  5. Impacted Majors • Accountancy • Finance • Financial Services option (Business Administration) Students will be admitted to the University as Pre- Accountancy, Finance, or Financial Services majors. Acceptance to the major will be determined by the GPA in prerequisite courses, and available spaces within the program.

  6. Communication • Applicants will receive a letter informing them that we’ve received their application • Letter will include a user name and password with instructions to activate their MyNorthridgeportal account • Applicants should activate the MyNorthridge portal as soon as possible • Admitted students will receive an Admissions packet with information about registration, placement tests, and ‘what’s next’ • All other information will come through the MyNorthridgeportal and campus email

  7. Appeals • Applicants are discouraged from submitting appeals for a denied application. Appeals are seldom granted, however, students can submit appeals by doing the following: • Fax or mail a letter of appeal addressed to the Special Admissions Committee at California State University, Northridge.  The appeal letter should contain reasons as to why they believe an exception should be made for their late application or denial. • The appeal will be reviewed by the Special Admissions Committee and the response/decision with detailed information concerning the appeal will be mailed to the applicant.

  8. Important Dates • Application filing period: Oct. 1 - Nov. 30 • Counselor Institute – Oct. 28 • Explore Northridge – April 14 • Notice of Intent to Register – May 1 • New Student Orientation (mandatory) – August
