  4. The Early Years • Started voice lessons at age 9 • Began to play guitar at 13 • Rebelled against parents and pierced her nose in 7th grade • Started her first Christian Gospel album “Katy Hudson” • Inspired to play different music by the hit band “Queen” while at a sleepover
