  2. Activities • UNECA: Organization of a workshop to launch African initiative for IT, Trade and growth (Addis march 2006). Whole Africa. • UNECE: Participation of 5 African countries: Ghana, Cameroon, Senegal, Morocco, Mauritius. (May 2006). • ILEAP: West Africa regional study on trade facilitation with a specific emphasis on single window (July 2006). West Africa. • OEDC: Organization of a regional workshop on Trade Facilitation (September 2006).Central and West Africa. <Bottom Line>

  3. Activities • TRADEHUB: Regional workshop on trade facilitation (September 2006). Southern Africa • PMAESA: Communication on Trade facilitation and single window.(Novembre 2006) East Africa • ASEAL: Senegal and Morocco admitted as observers (January 2007). <Bottom Line>

  4. Challenges • Bring policy makers to consider TF as a necessity not only an opportunity. • Have a more intensive participation of African experts in trade facilitation meetings. • Have regional pilot projects integrating CEFACT recommendations and standards among African countries and with countries from other regions. <Bottom Line>

  5. Recommandations • Build a regional alliance of SW operators to promote TF, share experiences, build a local solid expertise and contribute significantly to standard elaboration. • Encourage donors and specialized organizations involved in trade facilitation to support pilot projects among members of the alliance. <Bottom Line>
