  2. Nationality Composition of Students Student Population: 355 Classes: 19(including JK to Grade 10 plus 1 bilingual classes) Nationalities:Canadian, CBC, Mainland Chinese, Taiwanese, HK and other S.E. Asian nationals

  3. Our Teachers • 19 Chinese teachers, 6Art teachers, all are university graduates and well-trained by Tzu Chi Teachers Association • Hosted Teachers' Education Camp in 2006, March break Parent-Children Growth Camp in 2007 • Members of the Still Thoughts Reading Club • Periodically attend training courses and further education • Responsible, patient, and filled with Tzu-chi loving care

  4. What we teach • Traditional Chinese characters • Phonics by Bo Po Mo Fo (JK to G6) and Hanyu Pinyin (G7-10, bilingual classes) • Still Thoughts (Humanistic thought from Master Cheng Yan) • Art Classes includes Sign Language, Chinese Chess, Calligraphy, Drawing etc.

  5. What is STILL THOUGHTS (Jing-Si Aphorism)? • Words of Wisdom as told by Dharma Master Cheng Yan, the founder of Tzu Chi • Selected Still Thoughts for students to learn and incorporate into their daily lives. • The Still Thoughts curriculum is designed as a communication medium between parents, teachers and students.

  6. Caring Mamas and Papas • All tasks in school are undertaken by volunteers of Tzu Chi, around 60 people • Parents are invited to be “Caring Mamas” and “Caring Papas” at school. • 1 to 2 “Caring Mamas/Papas” per class • Further Education Courses are provided for “Caring Mamas/Papas” during the school year

  7. Philosophy of Education • Based on the spirit of altruism and unconditional giving, our philosophy is to teach the students not only Chinese language abilities but also how to become good citizens with humanistic disposition and Weltenschauung

  8. Schedules and Fees • 9:00 ~ 11:50 every Sunday Morning from Mid. Of Sept. to Early June. Total 30 weeks. • $170 for the school year, plus $35 for uniforms (one for summer and one for winter) • Student Aid Fund is available to qualified students
