  1. African Evening at the Garden The University Botanic Garden together with Garden Africa are delighted to host an African wine tasting and food evening Saturday 12th June 7.00pm The wine, food, flavours and aromas of Africa come to the Botanic Garden this summer in a super evening of wine tasting tours, cookery demonstrations and beautifully prepared African food. As you take a tour around the Garden you will be introduced to the diversity of plant life growing in South Africa’s famous wine region. We will stop at different locations to sample superb wines offered by our local wine merchant. Afterwards you will be able to learn how to prepare simple, authentic regional dishes from around Africa before sitting down to a beautiful meal. A charity currently working in Southern Africa, providing training and support for the most vulnerable and resource poor, enabling then to cultivate their own food rather than depending on aid, and conserve important species to promote health and create plant based livelihoods.
