Using MIT Scratch for Programming and ControlIntroducing the scratch interface Year 9 ICT Autumn Term 2007
What is Scratch? • Scratch is a software application that allows us to make simple programmes for animating objects on the screen. • You simply drag and drop instructions to build up your programme
What you will learn: National Curriculum levels: • use sequences of instructions to control devices and achieve specific outcomes • use ICT systems to control events in a predetermined manner • create sequences of instructions to control events, and understand the need to be precise when framing and sequencing instructions • develop, try out and refine sequences of instructions to monitor, measure and control events, and show efficiency in framing these instructions
Homework • For homework – go to the Scratch web site and download Scratch so that you can use it at home • http://scratch.mit.edu/
