  2. How Important Is Time? Psalm 90:10 The days of our lives are seventy years;         And if by reason of strength they are eighty years,          Yet their boast is only labor and sorrow;          For it is soon cut off, and we fly away.

  3. How Important Is Time? James 4:13-16 13 Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we willgo to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit”; 14 whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. 15 Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that.” 16 But now you boast in your arrogance. All such boasting is evil.

We can’t live here forever. • Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment, • Ecclesiastes 8:8 No one has power over the spirit to retain the spirit,       And no one has power in the day of death. There is no release from that war,       And wickedness will not deliver those who are given to it. • 1 Timothy 4:8 For bodily exercise profits a little, but godliness is profitable for all things, having promise of the life that now is and of that which is to come.

Prayer Can Be A Waste of Time 1 Peter 3:10-12 Isaiah 59:1-2 Behold, the LORD’s hand is not shortened,      That it cannot save;       Nor His ear heavy,       That it cannot hear. 2 But your iniquities have separated you from your God;       And your sins have hidden His face from you,       So that He will not hear.

  9. The Rapture is a figment of man’s imagination. • Matthew 24:36-44 • 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 • 2 Peter 3:3-4,10-13 • 1 Corinthians 15:22-26, 50-55

  10. People Waste Time • Trying to live forever. • Praying. • Waiting for the “Rapture.” • Worrying.

  11. Why worry? • Matthew 6:27 Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? • Philippians 4:6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; • Hebrews 13:6 So we may boldly say: “ The LORDismy helper;I will not fear.What can man do to me?”

  12. People Waste Time • Trying to live forever. • Praying. • Waiting for the “Rapture.” • Worrying. • Holding grudges.

Grudges hurt no one but the one holding them. • Mark 11:25 “And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses. • Matthew 6:14-15 “For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. • Luke 6:27-32

  14. People Waste Time • Trying to live forever. • Praying. • Waiting for the “Rapture.” • Worrying. • Holding grudges. • Teaching those who reject the gospel.

Some refuse to believe. • Luke 9:5 And whoever will not receive you, when you go out of that city, shake off the very dust from your feet as a testimony against them.” • Luke 10:10-11 But whatever city you enter, and they do not receive you, go out into its streets and say, 11 ‘The very dust of your city which clings to us we wipe off against you. Nevertheless know this, that the kingdom of God has come near you.’ • Matthew 7:6 “Do not give what is holy to the dogs; nor cast your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you in pieces.

  16. People Waste Time • Trying to live forever. • Praying. • Waiting for the “Rapture.” • Worrying. • Holding grudges. • Teaching those who reject the gospel.

  17. Don’t Waste Your Time. Luke 12:20a But God said to him, ‘Fool! This night your soul will be required of you;… Obey the gospel today!
