  1. Analysing the Style of Adverts

  2. J2O – Tongue Twister Ad Humour • The use of humour by having a character saying tongue twisters interacts with the audience in a positive way as its comedy is original. He repeats the tongue twister several times and every time getting faster until it doesn't make sense. The comedy is very simplistic however it works and delivers the intended effect on the audience. The 30 second advert seems to want to present the taste of the beverage as well as attracting the brand. I find the style of the ad works perfectly for all ages as it isn't inappropriate or contain any sex appeal such as many other ads like the ‘Lynx’ ads.

  3. Specsavers – Should’ve gone to specsavers effect Parody This specsavers advert falls under two categories of style, sex appeal and parody.. The sex appeal comes from the women wearing bikinis running along the beach in slow motion, however this has been used previously by another brand ‘Lynx’ which create deodorant/antiperspirant. The comedy in this ad takes place mainly near the end, this is where Specsavers created their own unique humour, this ad is a parody to the ‘Lynx Effect’ however instead of getting the women the protagonist puts on an ugly pair of glasses and immediately becomes unattractive and the women look at him with disgust and walk away. The use of these styles are successful with all audiences and works well to present the products.

  4. Hovis – Go on Lad Surreal This advert is surreal and is based off someone's imagination... Through this ad they show that Hovis (A Brand of Bread) is something that was created in the past and have been making bread for years. This advert itself is very well created using originality by having a boy run through different decades with a loaf of bread till he reaches the present, this effect makes us feel patriotism and love for our country. The style of the ad is appropriate as it mixes reality and fiction in a one 2 min video. The effect on the audience is quite positive as is reminds us of our history and one of the greatest feats in history.
