  5. I. Prayer for Power • Ephesians 3:14-21 • A prayer for the church, not just Ephesians • Acts 2:39 This promise is to you, and to your children, and even to the Gentiles—all who have been called by the Lord our God.”

  6. Who is God? – reminder when praying • Creator of heaven and earth • Unlimited resources • Love too great for understanding • Power in us beyond imagination

  7. II. Empowered • Strengthened with Power in the inner man

  8. Power – δύναμις, dunamis, doo'-nam-is; force; specifically miraculous power (usually by implication a miracle itself):—ability, abundance, (worker of) miracle (-s), power, strength, violence, mighty (wonderful) work.

  9. Then (So that) • Christ will make his home in your hearts • Dwell – permanent home • Ephesians 2:20-22 – a dwelling of God in the Spirit • Proviso – as you trust in him • Your roots grow down into God’s love and keep you strong • God’s love for you – the foundation • Nothing can separate us from that love

  10. Romans 8:35, 38 - 39 35Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death?  …  38And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love.  39No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.

  11. Empowered to know this love • Power to understand although it is too great to be fully understood • Know by experience

  12. Made complete (Colossians 1:28 – presenting every man complete in Christ) • With all the fullness of life and power that comes from God • 2 Peter 1:3 By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence.

  13. All the fullness and life that comes from God • NASB – filled up to all the fullness of God • AMPLIFIED – the richest measure of the Divine Presence

  14. III. Unlimited Power Through Us • God is able • Through His mighty power at work within us • Accomplish infinitely more than we can ask or think • AMPLIFIED – able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly, far over and above all that we [dare] ask or think [infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, or dreams] • Development of imagination

  15. Impartation of the thoughts and ways of God – Isaiah 55:8-11 • My ways are far beyond anything you could imagine • My thoughts are higher than yours • Like heavens above the earth higher • But like rain and snow come from the heavens – so my word – I send it out – it will accomplish all I want it to – it will prosper everywhere I send it.

  16. IV. Glory in the Church • Manifestation of the presence of God • Demonstrations of his power through us • Demonstrations of his wisdom to unseen forces • God gets the glory
