This article discusses the issue of air pollution in Armenia and its impact on public health, focusing on stillbirth rates, infant mortality, bronchial asthma, bronchitis, and diseases of the circulatory system. The research highlights the correlation between indoor and outdoor air pollution levels and negative health outcomes. Solutions and recommendations for public health management in Armenia are also provided.

In accordance with the principle of stable development the appropriate level of public health may be obtained only at the stage of the optimal and synchronic solution of the social, economic and environmental problems.
Air pollution in Armenia(1987-1999) Thousand ton /year
The results of our research show that in terms of anthropogenic chemical burden diminution on the human organism between of 1987 –1993, the indexes of still-births as well as up to one year infant mortality have decreased.

Studies have shown a correlation between the levels of indoor and outdoor air pollution and the low birth weights, inborn defects, stillbirth, breathing pathologies.

Within the transition period to the new social relations, and correspondingly to the new public health care system the efforts are to be done in public health management sphere. First of all, we must revise the worn out approaches in order to put the health care activities in correspondence with the new realities. Meanwhile we must give due attention to the existing experience in this sphere in the countries with the developed health care system.
