ETCF-II is co-funded by the European Unionand the Republic of Turkey Objectives: Overall objective of this project is to develop and strengthen foreign trade relations and to develop inter-Chamber relations between Turkey and member countries of European Union through increasing trade interaction between Caycuma CCI and Antwerp CCI. TOBB

ETCF-II is co-funded by the European Unionand the Republic of Turkey Activities: 1: Preparation Activities: • Forming The Project Team (Project Coordinator, Project Assistant, Abroad Manager, Accountant, Foreign Trade Specialist) : This will be the first activity once the project is carried out. The project team will generally be responsible for the appropriate implementation of the activities, to monitor the staff which will be assigned for specific activities and to ensure that everything will be implemented and reported in time. • Establishing The Project Office: Following the formation of the project team, the very first crucial activity within the project is to establish the project office. Project office will be established as preparing one appropriate place in the Caycuma CCI building. This place will also be used for the “Foreign Trade Consultancy Centre”. This means that after the project, office will remain to be used. TOBB

ETCF-II is co-funded by the European Unionand the Republic of Turkey 2 - Publicity and Visibility Activities: • Kick-off Meeting: At the beginning of the second month of the project, a kick-off meeting will be held. This meeting will increase the publicity of the project. Also it will get the SMEs’ attention to the activities of the project. • Visibility Activities : First of all, two signboards will be hung.The logos of Republic of Turkey, the European Union, CFCU, Eurochambres, Caycuma CCI and The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey will be placed on the signboards. Also, the flags of Republic of Turkey and the European Union will be placed in the Project Office. Moreover, both Caycuma CCI and Antwer-Waasland CCI will create a sub-page in their official web-sites. Additionally, 200 mini sets including a notepad, a pen, and a calendar will be prepared for the purpose of distributing them in the workshops, kick-off meeting and seminar. TOBB

ETCF-II is co-funded by the European Unionand the Republic of Turkey Also, 1200 brochures in Turkish and 3000 brochures in English will be printed aiming to distribute them to the SMEs in Caycuma and the SMEs in Antwerp.There will also be prepared a press bulletin and will be distributed to national and international press so that public will be informed about the project. • Closing Activity: A closing meeting will be organized in the last month of the project. Closing activity will begin with several speeches of authorized people from the project team and their speech will include what will have been done during this project, what will have been the activities, what kind of results will have been gained. Also, there will be a slide show indicating the details about the project. CDs will be distributed to the participants during the meeting. After the meeting there will be a mini cocktail. TOBB

ETCF-II is co-funded by the European Unionand the Republic of Turkey 3- Seminar on Updated “Guide to Doing Business with the EU”: There is a written source which has been prepared by Antwerp-Waasland CCI in 2011 named “A Guide to Doing Business with the EU”. This document will be updated within this project by the experts of Antwerp-Waasland CCI. One expert will work in updating the document for 5 days long. Since updated information in this document will be up to date, it will contain beneficial information for the SMEs which are willing to improve trade relations with the EU. After updating this document, a translator will be assigned for translating this document into Turkish. It is assumed that this activity will take place in the third month of the project. TOBB

ETCF-II is co-funded by the European Unionand the Republic of Turkey 4 - Spot Observation Trip to Antwerp: There will be organized 5 day-long spot observation trip for technical group from Caycuma CCI in the fifth month of the project. Turkish and Belgium project teams are going to share the responsibility for this activity. Antwerp-Waasland CCI will be in charge of appropriate implementation of the activity in Belgium. 4 people technical group from Caycuma CCI and the Project Coordinator will go to Antwerp-Waasland and visit 25 members of Antwerp-Waasland CCI. ETCF-II is co-funded by the European Unionand the Republic of Turkey 5 - Experience Transfer Seminar: • At the end of the 5th month there will be organized a seminar aiming to transfer the knowledge that is gained in the spot observation trip. One representative from each of the members of Caycuma CCI will participate in this seminar. • Also, Project Coordinator will explain the details about “Foreign Trade Consultancy Centre” and will encourage the members to benefit from this new body of the Caycuma CCI. TOBB

ETCF-II is co-funded by the European Unionand the Republic of Turkey 6- Founding Foreign Trade Consultancy Centre: Foreign Trade Consultancy Centre will be founded in the 6th month and will begin to be operated in the 7th month Concerning this activity, Antwerp- Waasland CCI will show their support by preparing 20 case reports to increase knowledge level of the employees of this new Centre. Employees of the Centre will use these reports while assisting the members of Caycuma CCI. Since case reports will cover 20 different topics related to the foreign trade, they will be beneficial to help a wide range of members. These reports will be used in one by one assistance activities; also, they will be used in the seminars that the Centre will be organized after the project. The Centre will continue to prepare more reports even after the project to be more helpful to their members. TOBB

  12. ETCF-II is co-funded by the European Unionand the Republic of Turkey 7- Creating a Web Platform: • A corporate web platform will be created during the 8th and 9th months of the project. • With this activity, the continuation of trade relations between the participatory Chambers, Caycuma CCI and Antwerp-Waasland CCI, will be ensured. • Area of work and contact information of all the members of both Chambers will be indicated in this web platform so that any member can reach the other whenever it needs. Members will have the chance to communicate online via this platform. Also, they will have the chance to put their announcements in this platform so that they will be able to easily create cooperation after the project. TOBB

ETCF-II is co-funded by the European Unionand the Republic of Turkey 8 - Organizing Workshops: • There will be organized 3 days workshops on 3 different topics in Caycuma with the participation of the authorized people from Caycuma CCI, local actors and three experts from Antwerp-Waasland CCI. • It is assumed that preparation for this activity will take place in the 10th month and workshops will take place in the 11th month of the project. It will be the last activity before the closing activity. TOBB

  14. ETCF-II is co-funded by the European Unionand the Republic of Turkey 9: Reporting Activities: • An interim report will be prepared in the middle stage of the project. Also, at the 12th and last month of the project; following the evaluation of the effectiveness of the activities that are performed during the project and its effect on the region by the project team; the preparations for the issue of the final report to be submitted to the Central Finance and Contracts Unit will get started. The final report which will be issued on the basis of the reports of the monthly coordination meetings of the project team, financial accountant and chartered certified accountant reports will be completed by the end of the project. ETCF-II is co-funded by the European Unionand the Republic of Turkey TOBB Expected Results: • Antwerp's know-how related to foreign trade will be transferred to Caycuma. • Consciousness about trading with the EU of the SMEs of Caycuma will be increased increased. • SMEs of Caycuma will acquire an international perspective on foreign trade. • Management capacity of Caycuma CCI will be developed. • Sustainability of trade relations between Caycuma and Antwerp will be ensured. • Awareness about foreign trade in the regions of Caycuma and Antwerp will increase.
