This study presents a phylogenetic tree utilizing partial hexon sequences from seven patients alongside prototype sequences from GenBank for HAdV-C1, HAdV-C2, and HAdV-F41. Notably, sequences from closely related strains in GenBank were compared with clinical isolates from an outbreak region. The analysis includes genetic divergence, with a scale bar indicating 2% divergence and bootstrap values generated from 100 pseudoreplicates. Additionally, a comparison of adenovirus load (DNAemia) kinetics among select patients provides insight into viral behavior.

On-Line version: Figure 2. Phylogenetic tree (Neighbour joining tree) of partial hexon sequences of patients 1 to 7 and Genbank sequences of prototype HAdV-C1 (#AF534906.1), HAdV-C2 (#J01917.1), HAdV-F41(#DQ315364). Sequences of the most closely related strains in Genbank of HAdV-F41 (#DQ504431) and HAdV-C2 (#AJ293903) as well as sequences (c1 - c14) of 14 clinical isolates of HAdV-F41 and HAdV-C2 from the outbreak region were also included for comparison. The Genbank accession number for the identical sequences of the HAdV-F41 outbreak and identical sequences of the control group are #501486 - #501499. Genbank accession number for HAdV-C1 sequences of patient 5 is #501500 and numbers of HAdV-C2 sequences are #50501 to #50508. Scale bar indicates 2% genetic divergence, bootstrap values indicated at nodes were generated with 100 pseudoreplicates.
