ULO A user-led organisation is one where the people the organisation represents, or provides services to, have a majority on the Management Committee or Board, and where there is clear accountability to members and/or service users
How does a ULO operate? While there is broad agreement about the values and functions of a ULO, there are many ways of putting these into practice.

Community Interest Company With People. Edinburgh CICs are limited companies with additional features They are created for the use of people who want to conduct a business or other activity for community benefit Not purely for private advantage This is achieved by a "community interest test" and "asset lock“ This ensures that the CIC is established for community purposes and the assets and profits are dedicated to these purposes.
