  1. First communion is no doubt a life changing moment for your daughter or son. Catholic parents worldwide consider it as a blissful experience. And on that life changing occasion, you want her to look her best. Your child’s 1stCommunion is indeed a special event your family will celebrate.

In the Catholic Church, First Communionsgenerally are done with children between the ages of 7 to 8 who have met all the requirements of the Church, e.g., attend catechism classes, learn herprayers, etc.Usuallyin December, Catholic schools and catechism classes begin to announce the date for their communion. At that time, Pegeen suggests that you also begin to look for her dress or in the case of the boy, his suit. Commonly, we make First Communion dresses although we have a style for boys as well.

That doesn’t mean that sequins or Swarovski crystals are out because heaven knows, there is nothing like a seven-year-old that doesn’t want bling but it’s a little less flower trims accenting the dress and a bit more like a special dress. We will suggest dresses more appropriate than a flower girl dress however often our dresses come from our flower girl dress collection.
