  3. Tabernacle Set Up • 603,550 men over twenty years old. • Work done Just as God Commanded! (Note Ex. 39:1, 5, 7, 21, 26, 29, 31, 32, 42, 43). • Moses Inspects the Work done thus far. • God instructs. Tabernacle to be set up on 1st Month, 1st Day.(Ex. 40:1-38). Anointed and consecrated (40:9-11) • Aaron and his sons to be washed and clothed with assigned garments. Anointed. (vs. 12-15)

  4. Tabernacle Set Up • Tabernacle set up on 1st day of 1st month. 2nd Yr. • Moses set up Tabernacle Just as God Commanded! (Note Ex. 40:19, 21, 23, 25, 27, 29). • Cloud covered the tent of meeting, God’s Glory Filled the Tabernacle. Moses couldn’t enter (Ex. 40:34-35). • Cloud in Day, Pillar of Fire at night. In the sight of all Israel (vs. 38) • Cloud taken up to indicate time to leave.

  5. Aaron and Sons Consecrated • Burnt Offerings. (Ex 29, 40, Lev 8) • Two, 1 year old lambs offered on altar each day. • One in morning. One at twilight. • Consecration of Aaron and sons. 7 Days. (Lev 8) • People Gather • Aaron and sons, bathed, dressed anointed.

  6. Aaron and Sons Consecrated • Special sacrifices offered for the priests. • Bullock for sin offering. (various organs offered, remainder burned outside the camp) • Ram for burnt offering. (all burned) • Ram of consecration. (Peace offering) • Blood rubbed on Aarons right earlobe, right thumb, right big toe. Also done to sons. • Blood and anointing oil sprinkled on Aaron, sons and garments that they will be hallowed before God. • Various internal organs, right shoulder, one unleavened cake, one cake of oiled bread, one wafer. Placed on Aaron and sons. Wave offering. Then burned. • Moses Given breast. • From this time forward, Right shoulder and breast to belong to priests for their portion. • Flesh was to be boiled at the door of the tent of meeting and eaten with the bread. Not to be shared. Any left to be burned.

  7. Aaron and Sons Consecrated • Special sacrifices offered for the priests. • Bullock for sin offering each day for 7 days. • Aaron and sons to remain in the tent of meeting for 7 days. • Altar was to be cleansed and anointed each day.

  8. Chronology • Initial passover held in Egypt on 1st year, 1st month, 14th day. • Israel departed Egypt on 1st year, 1st month, 15th day. • Israel arrived at Sinai in third month. • Tabernacle set up on Year 2, 1st Month, 1st • Therefore, Time spent at Sinai covers 9 months.

  9. Worship Set in Order • Princes of the tribes bring offerings (Num 7:1-89) • Six covered wagons, twelve oxen, wagon per two princes, ox for each prince. • Given to Levites for their work as required. • Gershonites: 2 wagons, 4 oxen. • Merarites: 4 wagons, 8 oxen. • Kohathites: None. Why?
