  3. Data Communications Need • Ability to send data to Oak Ridge National Laboratory to verify Gamma Neutron Radiation levels. • Ability to communicate with CVD troopers working in tandem with the van. • Ability for vehicle-to-vehicle communications between the CVD Troopers.

Internet, VPN, or Private Network Satellite Gateway EXISTING DATABASES Local – State – Federal Agencies ACCESS NCIC RAIN DOL - WASIC WSP E-STRAN Server Proposed WSP Satellite Network The mobile unit connects through a satellite adaptive portal (AP) installed at the Tumwater Data Center providing both air-to-air and terrestrial link through the E-STRAN server, which currently manages secure communications between public safety record management systems and the officer in the field.

  9. Where we are • The Concentrators have been ordered to complete the network connection to the Iridium Gateway. • Six remote transmit units (RTUs) have been ordered. One is currently installed in the van. The other five will be installed in CVD Trooper vehicles. A total of twenty will be ordered in the future.

  10. What we need to complete • Installation of the concentrators when they arrive. • Installation of the remaining twenty RTUs. • Testing between van and CVD Trooper vehicles. • Testing between vehicle-to-vehicle. • Testing between van and Oak Ridge National Laboratory.
