Understanding Earthquakes and Disaster Management

Earthquakes are surface tremors caused by sudden energy release within the Earth, measured using a Seismometer. Disaster management, as defined by Law Number 24 of 2007, is a dynamic, integrated process aimed at improving disaster-related actions such as observation, prevention, mitigation, preparedness, early warning, emergency response, rehabilitation, and reconstruction. The stages include pre-disaster, disaster occurrence, and post-disaster phases focusing on prevention, response, relief, recovery, reconstruction, and rehabilitation efforts.
