  3. What is tourism?? “Tourism is the temporary short term movement of people to destinations away from where they live and work and the activities they take part in during their stay” (Tourism Society 1976)

  4. How to market a destination Use unusual or attractive colours – link colours to features eg. yellow = sun blue = water 2. Attractive font styles or print 3. Think about the image you are presenting and what your TARGET MARKET will be attracted to 4. Bold headlines/titles 5. Pictures and drawings – can attract better than detailed descriptions 6. Attractive layout of information – mixture of text and images – not too cluttered 7. Humour eg. funny picture/cartoon
