  2. Where does the Reindeer Live? The reindeer is found in the Artic tundra, forests, and some mountains in Russia, Northern China, Canada, and Scandinavia. Sometimes reindeer were kept on farms like sheep and other animals that live on a farm. It is domesticating them. Thereindeer can live in many places, but don’t forget! Santa would have some in the North Pole! “Ha ha!”

  3. What Does the Reindeer Eat? The animal is a herbivore (plant eater). The reindeer eats plants like leaves and herbs. In the icy cold winter, they eat lichens and moss. The reindeer is safe because it’s a herbivore! Lichens are made of algae and fungus. It is healthy for the reindeer. The reindeer eats twelve pounds a day. In the Winter, the plants are covered with snow or ice so, they use their hooves to shovel or dig up the snow.

  4. Who’s the Reindeer’s Predator? The bad animals that hurt these animals are wolves, wolverines, lynxes, and bears. These fierce animals mainly aim for the newborn reindeers. Adult reindeers need a lot of strength for their children’s protection. The Golden Eagle can also be their predator. The eagles use their talons to puncture their lungs. Reindeer must really use a lot of strength to fight these fierce animals.

  5. The Reindeer’s Adaptations Thereindeer has many cool adaptations. They have sharp hooves to grip the icy snow. They also help them to dig through the snow for food too! The reindeer also has a thick hollow body to trap warm air. They are going to be very warm! They also have antlers for fighting their predators when they come under attack.

  6. Food Web Moss Plants Lichens The reindeer’s predators are, wolves, wolverines, bears, lynxes, and the Golden Eagle. The Golden Eagle is the violent one. It’s because they puncture the reindeer’s lungs. The reindeer is a herbivore. It is also called a plant-eater. The reindeer eats only moss and lichens and of course plants!   7. Interesting Facts The reindeer is an excellent swimmer. It is about four feet tall at the shoulders and about six feet long. That’s pretty big! Don’t you think? The female reindeer has antlers too! Maybe they fight to protect their children like the male reindeer! In the winter the they can be camouflaged well, because they’re almost all white! It’s also very interesting that the reindeer can trap warm air in its fur. They must be really warm in the Winter. This is the picture that Shows that reindeers can be warm. There is a lichen called Reindeer Moss. It is shaped like a Reindeer’s antlers. Reindeers eat it!

  8. More Facts About Reindeers These are the parts of the reindeer. It’s veryinteresting that reindeers are thin and brown in the summer but gray in the Winter. The reindeer also has a white mane. If you look closely to the picture then you will notice the mane is on the neck. The reindeer also have a white belly too! It’s same as the color of it’s mane! It has wide hooves for gripping on the icy snow. The reindeer has a wide muzzle. It also has a white muzzle and a white rump.
