Our Mission: • To provide guidance and assistance to congregations, conferences and pastors in programs of worship and the arts, through workshops, institutes, newsletters and consultation plans. • Facilitate worship at official synod events • Encourage the training and development of organists, choir directors, worship assistants and musicians • Promote and assist the development of the arts in worship

  4. Highlights 2006 - 2008

  5. Introduction of Evangelical Lutheran Worship book. • Together with Larry Weckwerth, Synod coordinator, workshops were held to introduce Pastors, musicians, members worship leaders to the new Worship book. • Workshops were held in Winnipeg with 220 participants and in Thunder Bay approx. 30. • A Mini Workshop was held in Lundar with Gimli and Arborg congregations participating.

  6. Opening Worship Service2008 Convention in Dauphin, MB • Duane Gaukel as Music Director • Pastor Trudy Thorarinson as Chaplain for the Convention

  7. Lay Preachers Workshop • Under Multiplying Ministries, the Committee planned and arranged a Lay Preachers workshop which was held Feb. 22-23, 2008 at St. Marks Church. • Bishop Lee Leutkehoelter lead the course. • Attended by 16 participants.

  8. Making All Things New: Inculturation of Worship • Rev. Kolleen Karlowsky-Clark attended the National Worship Conference in Regina, July 12-15, 2006. • The theme “Making All Things New: Inculturation of Worship” • The event was held together with the Anglican Church of Canada.

  9. Vision • to promote & assist the development of arts in Worship. • -music - ongoing training of musicians • -encourage visual arts - paraments, banners, drama, technology, etc. • -encourage worship that engages all senses

  10. Vision • to encourage training & development of Worship leaders • -professional development - Word & Sacrament, preaching • -equip lay members for leadership in Worship • – lectors, worship leaders.

  11. Vision • to continue to pursue Worship opportunities with the Anglican Church toward our Full Communion Relationship

  12. Vision • Look to planning a Narrative Communion workshop.

  13. Vision • Participate in National Worship Convention 2008 “Order & Chaos” being held in Montreal, June 25-28.
