ERI Polibienestar Polibienestar is an interdisciplinary R+D research team leader in Spain and specialized in: Research, innovation and social technology, design of social welfare policies, technical advice and training in social policies. Mision: Research in the field of creation and application of social technology and design, development and implementation of social policies to improve welfare and quality of life of society.

OBJECTIVES OF THE LIVINGALL PROJECT Increase the free movement of people with disability in the actual European context of openness and accessibility of people to the global European labour market. GENERAL OBJECTIVE • Knowledge about which people take advantage of their rights • Good practices for the further development of the regional policies, partnering regions and beyond the participants in the project. • Provide the European decision makers with appropriate methodologies and tools based on barriers evaluation and benchmarking to make disabilities free movement policies more effective. SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES European and national government and non-government initiatives and technologies with the aim to support free movement and equal opportunity rights www.livingall.eu

  13. LIVINGALL Plan of investigation The LivingAll project involves a number of phases spread in several work phases: Phase 1. Information gathering in the legal area Phase 2. Information gathering in the technological area Phase 3. Evaluation of the use of the rights to improve free movement by disabled people. Phase 4. Detection of main barriers Phase 5.   14. FINDINGS OF THE LIVINGALL PROJECT SHOW THAT: Free movement and equal opportunities for people with disability is still a challenge www.livingall.eu

  15. In 2008 more than 40% of people with disability face barriers in all the areas of their lives. More than 65% of people with disability face BARRIERS to access to and use the MEANS OF TRANSPORT and the BUILT ENVIRONMENT www.livingall.eu

PEOPLE WITH SENSORY AND PHYSICAL DISABILITY FIND BARRIERS MORE FREQUENTLY THAN PEOPLE WITH MENTAL DISABILITY. 70-80% of people with sensory disability find BARRIERS to access to and use the MEANS OF TRANSPORT, MEANS OF COMMUNICATION, BUILT ENVIRONMENT AND EDUCATION AND TRAINING 70-80% of the PEOPLE WITH PHYSICAL disability find BARRIERS to access to and use of the MEANS OF TRANSPORT, BUILT ENVIRONMENT AND HOUSING www.livingall.eu

  19. DATA SHOW THAT URGENT MEASURES SHOULD BE IMPLEMENTED IN ALL THE AREAS www.livingall.eu

RECOMMENDATIONS AND GUIDELINES • Boost more participation of people with disability in all the initiatives to support free movement and equal opportunities for people with disability. • Reach same rules / standards in Europe. • Ensure the implementation of the norms regulating the rights of people with disability and ensure that the lack of implementation of the norms is punishable by Law. • Provide more information concerning disability issues. • Make an effort to decrease bureaucracy. • Create new initiatives to promote education for people with disability. • Promote the concept of inclusive design in all the new products with the aim to create a Europe for all. www.livingall.eu
