  3. A series of rebellions against royal authority intended to limit the monarchy.

  5. Issued by Louis XIV, this revoked the Edict of Nantes and allowed for the destruction of Huguenot churches and the closing of Protestant schools.

  7. Established the intendant system, which replaced nobles with royal officials.

  9. Chief Minister for young Louis XIV, the Fronde occurred during his time in power.
