  3. Tangaroa • God of: Sea • Son of: Rangi and papa • Kid(s): Punga and two grandchildren • Good or bad: Good • Tangaroa is one of the great gods. He is a son of Ranginui and Papatuanuku, the sky father and the Earth mother.after he joins his brothers Rongo, Tumatauenga, Haumia and Tane in the forcilde separation of their parents, he is attacked by his brother Tawhirimatea the god of all the weather and forced to hide in the sea from his brother.

Rongo-ma Tane • God of: Peace and of cultivated plant • Son of: Rangi and Papa • Kid(s): None • Good or bad: Good • Rongo is a very important god ,The god of cultivated food, especially the Kumara, a vital food crop. Other food crops cultirated by Māori in traditional times include taro yams cordyline and ground. Because of their tropical origin, most of these crops were

Tawhirimatea • God of: weather • Son of: Rangi and Papa • Kid(s): none • Good or bad: bad • Tawhirimatea was anger at his brothers for separating their parents, Tawhirimatea wanted to destoy Tane (god of forest) because he was the one who separate Rangi and papa apart. He lives in the sky with his father Rangi and his brothers, star Rehua. The Children of Rangi and Papa have grown frustrated with being forced at their confinement in the cramped space between their parent.

  6. Haumia-Tiketike • God Of: Wild, food, plants • Son of: Rangi and Papa • Kid(s): none • Good or bad: Good • He agreed to the force of his parents separation. Because of this he was subjected to the fury of his brother Tawhirimatea god of weather. Who would have killed him if their mother (Papa) had not hidden him in had body, that is in the ground. While he escaped from his brother Tawhirimatea, He was later discovered by ( Tumatauenga) god of war. Who saw haumia’s hair sticking up out of the earth. Haumia is particulary associated with fernroot.

  7. Tumatauenga • God of: war • Son of: Rangi and Papa • Kid(s):none • Good or bad: bad • Tumatauenga wanted to kill his parents to let space and light into the world. But Tane said ”I do not want to kill them”. “Why did we just spilt them up”. So we can still see them. So Tane push for years and years. Till they were spilt.

  8. Punga • God of :Ancestor of ugly creatures • Son of: Tangoroa • Kids: Ikatere and Tute-wehiwehi • Good or bad: Good • Punga is a supernatural being, the ancestor of sharks, lizards, rays, and all deformed, ugly things.

  9. Ruamoko • God of : Volcanoes and earthquakes • Son of: Rangi and Papa • Kids: None • Good or bad: Bad Ruamoko is yet not born. He is still in Papatuanuku’s tummy, and when he kicks he makes earthquakes and sometimes makes volcanoes explode.

Tane Mahuta • God of : Forest • Son of: Rangi and Papa • Kids: Hine-nui-te-po, Hine-ahu-one, Hine-ahuarangi, • Hine-titama • Good or bad: Good Tane Mahuta separated his parents, it took him many years to separate them. Tane put his feet to his mother and his hands to his father. Tane married many of his daughters and had kids with each one.

  11. Tane Mahuta part 2 Tane married each one of his daughters. He had a child with each one as well. The children agreed to marry Tane because he was not part of their life. Tane knew who they were, but they did not know who Tane was. He married, had a child then left them. But Hine-titama the last child Tane married, asked Tane “where is my father”. He said “I am your father”. Hine-titama was so shock that Tane was her father. She flew to the under world to ever to come back up and that’s why she is the goddess of death. But today she is known as Hine-nui-te-po.
