COGITA • Sustainable counselling within climate/local Agenda 21, mobility management, planning and health care mainly to municipalities and regions • Working with Mobility Management since 1996 • Key areas are • strategic counselling • processes of involvement and commitment amongst the stakeholders

  3. National and Interregional Networks • 2 different types of mobility management networks: • Network for Sustainable Traffic and Mobility Management • Interregional networks on promoting bicycling through Interreg projects • Nordic Bicycle Cities • Cycling Across Borders

  4. Network for Sustainable Traffic and Mobility Management • Established in 2007 • 35 national members (municipalities and regions) • 3 meetings a year hosted in turn by the members • Combination of presentations and workshops

  5. Network for Sustainable Traffic and Mobility Management • Objective: • to create a platform for sharing knowledge and exchanging experiences on mobility management in Denmark – in order to promote Mobility Management in Denmark

  6. Nordic bicycle cities 3 year Interreg IVA – project Running from 2009 to the end of 2011 Interregional project with 11 partners from Denmark, Norway and Sweden

  9. Cycling across borders 3 year Interreg IVA-project from 2010-2012 6 participating partners Objective: to promote bicycle traffic in order to Reduce the regions CO2-emissions Improve the general state of health reduce crowdedness in the region’s cities

Conclusions of networking • The networks have put mobility management and promotion of bicycling on the agenda in medium sized cities that prior to participation didn´t focus on these issues. • The members of the networks have been encouraged to work more with mobility management both locally and regionally • The networks have resulted in better cooperation between the members – both at the meetings but also ‘in between’ • Both types of networks are a platform for generating (new) ideas and projects across the regional and municipal borders
