Eastern Screech Owls • No red owls are known from southern Texas, although they are farther northern Texas and if further south in Mexico. • Eastern screech owl pairs usually find a mate for life. • An eastern screech owl is known to eat lots of different kinds of songbirds, including the European Starling. • Eastern Screech Owls eat lots of small animals. • The trilling song in one pitch is used by members of a pair tokeep in contact.

Gray Wolves • Gray wolves live in packs of 8-35 wolves. • Gray wolves live in the forested areas of northern Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin. • Gray wolves can communicate with each other though howling, body language, and scent. • Today lots of research is being conducted to deter mine the best habitat for wolves. • There are about 2,500 gray wolves in the lower 48 states , and about 10,000 in Alaska.
