  1. Why a Performance Archive? • Once a theatrical production ends its run,there is no way it can be studied but through records (video recordings of the performance, production notes) • Theatrical Performance as a field of study is growing, but the means to study are still in development.

  2. Who would use the Performance Archive? • Anyone interested in theatre • Scholars, Students • Actors, directors, designers • Craftsmen

  3. What would be the contents? • The texts, and different versions • Recordings of the Performance • Recordings of Rehearsals • Stills • Interviews with people involved in the production (director, actors, designers...) • Designs, plans, records of techniques and crafts used • Reviews

  4. Which format? • Web-based format, that would allow • Texts • Graphics • Videos/audio clips to be hyperlinked and annotated

  5. Innovation • The purpose of this archive is not only to leave a record of a theatrical production, but also to document the process that leads from the page to the stage. • Multimedia environments seem particularly apt to do so.
