  1. RADIUS Attribute for 6rddraft-ietf-softwire-6rd-radius-attrib-01IETF 80 RADEXT WGMarch 30, 2011 Dayong GUO Sheng JIANG (Speaker) Remi Despres

  2. 6rd scenarios with AAA servers AAA server 6rd Border Relay Radius CPE/host BNG DHCP IPv4 IPv6 • 6rd is used to provide IPv6 connectivity services through IPv4-only infrastructure (6 over 4 tunnel) • The 6rd CPE uses extended 6rd DHCP option to discover 6rd border relay and to configure IPv6 prefix and address • In some fixed line broadband network scenarios, the Broadband Network Gateways (BNGs) act as the access gateway of users (hosts or CPEs). The BNGs also embed a DHCP server function to propagate the user configuration information. • User configuration information may be managed by AAA servers. Between AAA servers and BNG, radius protocol is used to carry information. • In 6rd deployment, the 6rd user configuration information is also stored in AAA servers. A new RADIUS attribute is needed to propagate these information from AAA servers to BNGs.

  3. IPv6-6rd-Configuration Attribute • IPv6-6rd-Configuration Attribute in Radius imitates from the 6rd DHCP option, sub-options are all the same. • Adopted as Softwire WG document 2010/10 • Review comments from RADEXT WG maillist 2010/11 • Change RADIUS attribute name to be IPv6-6rd-Configuration • Fix the error on how to count the length • Acknowledgement to Alan DeKok (RADEXT WG) • Softwire WG is ready for WGLC after IETF 80
