Faculty Governance Survey Insights at Radford University
The Faculty Governance Survey at Radford University, conducted by consultant James Lollar, captured responses from 143 faculty members. Key findings indicate significant discontent with the current governance system, highlighting issues such as redundancy, excessive committees, and poor communication. Awareness of governance issues has increased for only 20% of respondents since the introduction of the UFC, while 59% believe CAS possesses too much influence. There is notable support for alternatives to the UFC, with 54% favoring a University Faculty Senate that includes representatives from each academic department.
