  2. A manger, is a trough or box, either of carved stone or made of wood construction used to hold food for animals in a barn.

  3. Luke 2:7 And she gave birth to her firstborn son and wrapped him in swaddling cloths and laid him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn.

  4. Luke 2:3–4 And all went to be registered, each to his own town. And Joseph also went up from Galilee, from the town of Nazareth, to Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David,

  5. Jesus was born in a mess, because he came to save us from our mess.

  18. Christmas Prayer of Humility Lord, Jesus, I get it now. You came in a mess in order to fix my mess. And I admit what you already know is true. I have made a mess of things. I don’t want to paper over it anymore; I don’t want to fake it anymore. I need a Savior. Just like you have for millions of others before me, please accept me as I am, a mess, and lead me into the way everlasting. Your way.
