  1. Hello, everybody! This is Patcharapa. How are you doing? What did you have for lunch?

  2. Today we’ll begin Unit 11. This unit is about describing a future event, or what will happen in the future.

  3. Let’s begin with the conversation in your book. Study the dialogue on Page 87.

  4. Very good. Everything is just great. The food is excellent and all the performances were spectacular. How is everything going with you?

  5. Actually, this is my first time at a farewell party, Thank you for inviting me.

  6. You’re welcome. The party is almost finished, and we will go somewhere more exciting to celebrate our success. Where will we go? We will visit Tawan Daeng. What’s that?

  7. It’s a popular pup and discotheque hybrid. Won’t it be too expensive for students?

  8. I don’t know. This will be my first time there. We’ll check it out together. If we can’t afford to get in, we will go somewhere else. Do you drink? No, I don’t. I never drink.

  9. Will you try it there? No, I won’t. I just want to experience a nightlife with my friends before we leave MSU.

  13. When we talk about a future event or what will happen in the future, we use future simple tense. Study the examples given below.

  14. They will begin practicing soon. They will join MSU Chorus next month.

  15. He will give her some flowers tomorrow, but I think she will refuse to accept them.

  16. He will go to the sea next summer. He will enjoy surfing there.

  17. He will paint many pictures next semester. He will becomea famous artist soon.

  18. They will go jogging this afternoon. They will jog around Khamriang Campus.

  19. Piyapong will go skiing with his friend next Sunday. They will have great fun.

  20. Piyapong and Chalor will go to the library together tomorrow. They will surf the Internet there.

  21. Songsak and Thaksinawat will travel to Phu Kradueng next week. They will go hiking and explore the wildlife.

  22. What will Sarawut do when he goes to the beach next summer? He will lie on the beach and cover himself with the sand.

  23. What will Bu-nga do in Bang Saen next week? She will pick and collect some shells.

  24. What will Atirat do on Phu Kradueng next month? He will play the guitar and sing some songs.

  25. Turn to Task 71, on Page 89. Study the examples and then put the verb in each sentence into a correct form.

  28. Oh, it is very crowded. It’s very noisy, too. Look around. These folks are really having great fun. Where are we going to sit?

  29. Just follow our people. I think the waiter is going to find a corner that will fit all of us. There it is! What are we going to do next?

  30. I’m going to order drinks, something non-alcoholic. I think I’m going to have a pop. I’ll try Isan black berry wine.

  31. Interesting choice! I’ve learned from the billboard at the front door that David Intree is going to sing tonight. I hope it doesn’t start too late. I watched his concert on TV last week. It was quite enjoyable. What’s your plan after this?

  32. I think it’s going to be too late for any activity. Besides, I have to prepare and mail out a job application letter tomorrow. What position are you applying for?

  33. I’m applying for an English news reporter at the Thai PBS Channel. That will suit a food-looking guy with fluent English like you.

  34. But people say it’s very competitive to get in there. I know, but I’m going to do my best. Good luck!

  36. When the future event is immediate and definite, we use another pattern. Where are we going to sit? The waiter is going to find a corner that will fit all of us.

  47. Now, it’s time for writing practice. Write a short passage about what you plan to do tonight, this weekend, or during the semester break. You may also choose to write about your plan for the summer or after you graduate.
