  4. Student Accountability • Attendance • Grades + Attendance = CREDIT • Grades (daily, six weeks, semester) • Major Grades • Three days to retake • Student responsibility to schedule time

Success for all Students • Students need to make the best grades possible! • Parents and Students are encouraged to have a Parent/Student Portal www.gccisd.net • 1st and 2nd semester averaging • Communicate with the teacher FIRST!! • Tutorials—bus runs at 3:30 on Tues. and Thurs. • Credit Recovery

  6. What is a Credit? • 1 credit = 1 full year in a class • One half credit = 1 semester in a class • To earn credit: • Grade average must be 70% or better • Must attend 90% of days in the semester

History, US History, Government (1 sem), and Economics (1 sem) – 4 credits • 2 years of the same foreign language – 2 credits • Fine Arts (1 credit), Technology Application (1 credit), PE (1 credit), Communication Applications (0.5 credit), and Health (0.5credit) – 4 credits • 4 credits of Electives

  13. GPA and Class Rank • GOOD GRADES • Rigorous Courses PAP/AP • Requesting a Transcript. Transcript only mailed home Junior/Senior year. Sophomores must request a copy. • On GCCISD website • Computers in Ranger Center • Allow 3-5 days to process • Registrar: Heather Roecker, located in Ranger Center
