Breast Lift Expectations Dr. Kris Reddy FACS, Board Certified Plastic Surgeon and West Palm Beach Breast Lift expert, advises that Breast Lift patients mentally prepare themselves for the healing process. Although Breast Lift ranks among the most gratifying procedures, a patient should keep in mind that healing is a lengthy procedure and that patience must be maintained.
Breast Lift with Breast Implants - Normal Postoperative Signs and Symptoms: Tightness and Heaviness Tightness in the chest region and stiffness; tingling, burning, or intermittent shooting pain: These are normal experiences as the skin, muscles, and tissues stretch to accommodate your implants, and as sensory nerves heal. Pain medication and muscle relaxants taken alternatively will help you cope with any discomfort.
A feeling of heaviness: It is normal for your chest to feel heavy as you adjust to your implants. This will subside within 2-4 weeks following surgery. A sloshing sound or sensation: This is the result of air and fluid that are trapped in the breast pocket. This is perfectly normal and will resolve itself within 2-4 weeks.
Breast Lift with Breast Implants - Normal Postoperative Signs and Symptoms: Asymmetry and Hypersensitivty Assymetry: The breasts usually look different and feel differently. Breasts may look and feel quite different from one another in the weeks and months following the surgery. Although no two breasts are ever totally symmetrical in nature or following surgery, better symmetry can be achieved by vigilant use of bra support and breast massage.
Hypersensitivity of nipples or lack of sensitivity: This is normal and will gradually resolve over time. Permanent numbness of the nipples is rare. Itchy feeling of the breast skin can be relieved with topical benadryl.
Breast Lift:Conditions to Report While extremely rare, please report the following to your board certified plastic surgeon if they occur: * A high fever (Over 101 degrees), severe nausea and vomiting, continued dizziness or incoherent behavior, such as hallucinations. Slight rise in temperature after surgery is very common.
* A severely misshapen breast or excessive bruising that is localized to Breast or Region of the chest. * Excessive bleeding or fluid seeping through the incisions. Small amount of skin bleeding is normal. * Severe pain that is localized to one breast or region of the chest which cannot be controlled by your pain medication.
