HEART ATTACK (Coronary) • SIGNS • Intense, griping pain in the left chest, neck to jaw through the shoulder blades • Pale, cool moist skin • Trouble breathing • Denial • May have no pulse/breathing
HEART ATTACK (Coronary) • TREATMENT • If conscious • Ask if they have any medication • (nitroglycerin tablets) • Elevate head & shoulders • Have them cough violently
HEART ATTACK (Coronary) • TREATMENT • If unconscious • Cardio PulmonaryRespiration (CPR) • Call 911 & request oxygen • Treat for shock

STROKE (Blockage in the brain) • SIGNS • Confusion/memory loss • Sudden intense headache • Weakness/paralysis on 1 side of body • Loss of balance/coordination • Blurred vision/uneven pupils

STROKE (Blockage in the brain) • TREATMENTS • Ask – if conscious (are you conscious) • ABC – if unconscious • Treat for shock • Lay on left side (stomach) • Talk to victim • Call 911 (same as heart attack)
