  2. Why Pobitora Is important ? Pobitora or Pabitora Wildlife Sanctuary is a wildlife reserve in the Morigaon district of the state of Assam in India. It is located about 30 km east of Guwahati. The Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary is about 48 km by road from Guwahati. With the biggest population of the Greater Indian One-Horned Rhinoceros in this area it is one of the most important places for the tourists of the world. The Wildlife Sanctuary of Pobitora stands out to offer a beautiful experience to the nature lovers. Other than rhino it has many beautiful birds and animals. Among them the river Dolphin and Oriental Pied Hornbill are most commonly found.
