  2. Description of the Field • Traffic Engineering is a branch of civil engineering. Traffic engineers are responsible for analyzing data and solving problems that have to deal with traffic.

  4. Where This Type of Engineer might work • Traffic engineers usually work on a road collecting data or in an office interpreting the data for use.

  5. Salary Ranges • The salaries range from $45,458 to $49,797.

  6. Duties • Traffic engineers are responsible for traffic signal times, how to re-route traffic in case of an accident or construction, determining speed limits, deciding where to place guide signs, and keeping people safe as they drive.

  7. College Preperation • To become a traffic engineer you must at least have a master’s degree in civil engineering taking the courses listed in my report.
