  1. German Inventors Konrad Zuse

  2. His Life: Konrad Zuse was born on 22 June 1910 in Berlin . He studied at the technical college in Berlin-Charlottenburg mechanics, engineering, architecture and civil engineering. After he finished his degree he worked as a structural engineer and a year later he built his first computer, the Z1, which helped to calculate the flight statics. During the Second World War, Konrad Zuse invented the calculators S1 and S2, special computers for aerodynamic profiles. In 1940 he did Aerodynamic Testing and build the Z2. In the same year he founded the company „Zuse Apparatebau“.

  3. 1941 Konrad Zuse invented the Z3 in his apartment, which is still regarded as the first functioning computer in the world. The war, however, prevented Zuse from presenting his invention to American and British researchers and inventors. His company and the Z3 was destroyed by allied bombing. The Z4 was the first computer which could be brought to safety. In 1945 he married Gisela Brandes and had five children with her. After his retirement he devoted himself to his hobby, painting. Zuse developed the method of computer-implemented floating-point theory and practical. Z1 He designed the first universal programming language in the world.
