  2. Malaria Malaria is an infectious disease that infects approximately 350 to 500 million people each year. Malaria is a illness caused usually by poverty and lack of hygiene .it is so told that if you have this disease and you get bitten by a mosquito a bit of your blood is taken, this little bit of blood is now taken to another persons body who most likely does not have this disease and they now have big chance of getting malaria. If not treated properly there are chances of coma and death.

  3. Scarlet fever Scarlet fever is an illness that affects 1000’s of children each year. The first sign of scarlet fever is that you will see a sunburn like rash on your skin but this rash has little bumps and then it will cover the rest of your body. Why this is called scarlet fever? It is because when you have scarlet fever your tongue turns a red scarlet colour like the picture on the bottom right of your screen.

  4. Black death (Bubonic plague) Black death is a disease is a illness that swept over Europe in 1347.over 30 million of Europe's population had died because of black death and only and only 60 million were still alive, in some cities more than 800 people died everyday. Black death was a big lump usually found around the armpit groin and neck .

  5. Mad cow disease Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy Yes the name sounds a little bit funny but there is nothing funny at all about this disease. Why is this called mad cow disease? This is called mad cow disease because this is a disease that usually would infect cattle, but today is infecting 1000’s of people. The symptoms of mad cow disease are almost the same to what cows have but not quite as bad ,for a cow it usually takes 2-8 years for the whole animal to be infected ,but humans have symptoms such as ,muscle spasms, lack of muscle control and worsening memory loss. This disease if not treated properly will slowly eat up all of your brain.

Spanish Flu (swine flu) Spanish flu spread widely across Australia in 1919 causing over 12000 deaths this illness was mainly bought back by soldiers coming back from world war 1.the symptoms for Spanish flu are .fevers up to 100 degrees, and at that time there were no chemists where you could get your proper medication from so a lot of people ended up dying.

HIV Aids HIV aids is a disease known as Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome and affects the blood in your body and lowers your immune system which means it is very easy for your body to catch any virus that is going around. In 2007 it is estimated that approximately that 33.2 million lived with this disease worldwide and also that this illness killed 2.1 million people 333,000 were teenagers.

Measles Measles is a disease that infects more than 20 million people each year and in 2008 more than 164 000 people died 450 died in a day and 18 died every hour people worldwide measles can also be called English measles. Measles is a illness sort of like chicken pox but a lot more smaller and lasts a longer period of time. The symptoms of measles is a really itchy rash all over your body fever runny nose sore throat and headaches.

  9. cholera Cholera is an infectious disease that infects your intestine. This means that all the bad foods in your body will not be taken out of your body. if this is not treated properly than death will follow. More than 131.943 people are infected with cholera and there are 2.272 deaths per year because of this infectious disease.

  10. smallpox Small pox is an infectious disease that is very unique to humans. Smallpox is caused by tiny blood vessels in your skin down your throat and in your mouth if not treated properly there could be a chance of death small pox. infects 50 million people a year and 300-500 million people die each year

  11. Typhus Typhus is a disease that infects more than 350-500 million people each year and kill approximately 100000 people worldwide during the year. Typhus is a disease that infects your whole body when you get bitten by a insect so called a typhus which you can locate on the right side of your page
