  1. 160W Monocrystalline Folding Solar Panel USER MANUAL PLEASE READ AND UNDERSTAND THIS MANUAL COMPLETELY BEFORE USING THE 160W FOLDING SOLAR PANEL.

WARNING & SAFETY INFORMATION • Keep your solar panel & controller away from any liquids at all times. • Keep the solar panel and controller clean at all times (always check connectors to ensure they’re free of grit before plugging them in). • This appliance is not intended to be used by people (including children) with reduced physical or mental capabilities, or those who are under the influence of drugs or alcohol. • Do NOT use the solar panel to charge non-rechargeable batteries. Doing so may result in harm to the user and/or damage the solar panel and controller. Only use the provided solar panel, regulator and adaptors/ wiring provided in the kit. • All lead acid batteries produce harmful, explosive gases. The battery should be mounted in a well ventilated area, as far as possible from any ignition sources. Do NOT smoke or have a naked flame in the vicinity of the battery under charge. • Never tamper with or pull any component of the solar panel, regulator or wiring apart. If you do so, you will void the warranty. • Always store the solar panel neatly in its bag in a weatherproof ventilated area. • Ensure nothing sharp or heavy could potentially break the high tempered glass in the solar panel during transport, or storage. • Only use the solar panel to charge 12V batteries. FUNCTION AND FEATURES: Monocrystalline Solar Panel Type 160W - (162W @ 14.03V) Wattage 13.4 – 14.03V Voltage 22.4V Open Circuit Voltage 8.75A Peak Current Output PWM (Pulse-Width Modulator) Regulator Type 775 x 670 x 65mm Dimensions 5m Extension Lead IP68 Solar Regulator IP Rating • Highly efficient monocrystalline modules in the solar panel guarantee efficient charging. • When the 160W folding solar panel is folded up, it’s space-saving and portable; when the folding solar kit is open, it has double the sunlight charging area, providing a good consistent charge. • The regulator is designed to protect the battery from overcharging under voltage, as well as short circuiting. • Specially designed support legs enable the 160W folding solar panel to stand on rough surfaces, and on a desired angle for direct sun exposure.   5. USING YOUR 160W FOLDING SOLAR PANEL: The Adventure Kings 160W folding solar panel will perform at its peak when the solar panel face/ monocrystalline cells are angled directly towards the sun. Set the legs to your desired position: (below) TWO STEPS FOR USING THIS ADJUSTABLE SUPPORT LEG • When the locking handle is at 90 degrees a right angle (Figure 1). The support legs are loose and the angle of the solar panel can be adjusted. 90° • When the locking handle is in the down (45 degree) position (Figure 2), the support legs are locked and cannot move or shake at all. CONNECTING YOUR SOLAR PANEL Figure 1 • Now that the panel is setup facing directly towards the sun. Proceed to connect the positive and negative clamps to your battery. • DO NOT connect the solar panel straight to the battery or it will damage the Solar controller. • Always connect the battery clamps to the battery first, then plug the solar panel Anderson plug into the battery cables Anderson plug. Your regulator will then light up to show that it is working. 45° DISCONNECTING AND STORING YOUR SOLAR PANEL • Disconnect the Anderson plug off the battery clips first and then proceed to take the battery clips off the battery (Figure 3) Figure 2 • Roll the extension lead up neatly into the storage clips behind the Solar panel. NOTE: MAKE SURE NOT TO TWIST OR KINK THE WIRING IN AN UNNATURAL WAY. • NEVER STORE YOUR SOLAR PANEL WITH THE BATTERY LEADS CONNECTED TO THE PANEL. • PLACE THE BATTERY LEADS SEPERATELY IN THE FRONT POCKET OF THE CARRY BAG. (Figure 4) Figure 3 TIP: For optimal performance through-out the day, set the panel to approximately 30° from the ground. Anywhere between 10° and 40° will gain the best power absorption across the course of the day.   6. 12 MONTH LIMITED WARRANTY PERIOD: WARRANTY Full 12 month warranty from date of purchase against all manufacturing defects. WHAT DOES THE WARRANTY COVER? Under normal usage conditions, this warranty covers: a. Any defect in design or manufacture which results in the product failing to perform substantially as described in authorised advertising or literature. b. We will either repair or replace the product at our discretion providing that the fault is found to have been caused by a design or manufacturing defect and not misuse or tampering. Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and for compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure. The benefits provided to you as the consumer by this warranty are in addition to other rights and remedies available to you under the law. THE WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER: a. Any damage resulting from improper use b. Faulty installation or modification made during installation c. The cost of removing and reinstalling the product d. Travel and /or other expenses due to customer’s remote location e. Transport charges and damage in transit. It is your responsibility to deliver and pick up your product, including any costs associated with the postage of your repair or replacement product. If you do freight your product we recommend that you insure against loss or damage. f. Any loss directly or indirectly associated with the product failing to operate.
