SBISD 2008 Bond Plan – Systems Upgrade Projects Schedule - Year 1 Projects (5 ES) Project Schedule: Current Point Construction Schedule Assumptions: (Phase 1) The focus is to prioritize the scope andaccomplish as much as possible during the summer. (Phase 2) Some scope items may require a long lead time for delivery of equipmentcausing some work to be completed during the school year after hours or during holiday breaks. Project Delivery: The Competitive Sealed Proposal delivery method will be used for this project. The Competitive Sealed ProposalContract was approved on May 19, 2008. As a “whole” these projects came in under budget. Construction started shortly after school was dismissed for summer on May 31st.

SBISD 2008 Bond Plan – New Elementary School Projects Construction Manager at Risk – Delivery Method Why CM @ Risk for these Projects? • Pre-construction estimating. • Maximizes review of alternate systems and materials that may result in cost savings. • Pre-construction phasing and constructability reviews. • Ensures maximum sub contractor participation in a busy marketplace. Current Project Status • At this time, both projects have received estimates that are over the budget. • Meetings with the district have taken place to identify possible cuts • A “shopping list” of items has been identified and will be priced separately • The team is proactively monitoring this and will continue to explore options.

SBISD 2008 Bond Plan – Year 2 Project Assignments Status Update : Security – Terry Bell • Security • 100% of schools have the “district standard” for Security (CCTV) • Because of future renovation some cameras will be added to these systems with the future work. • Security access controls will be added with each renovation project.
