  1. A Typical ‘The Crux’ Reader This slideshow gives you an example of the type of person that would read The Crux. To do this I constructed a fake Facebook profile after carrying out a questionaire of potentional readers.

  2. Gathering Reader Identity Details • To find detail about my the typical interests of potential readers of The Crux, I conducted a questionnaire asking about their habits and lifestyles. I gave the questionnaire to young female adults aged 17 – 23 who I know are regarded as intellectual. The results were: • 81% said they read on a regular basis. • 77% said they had plans to or currently attend university. • 64% showed an interest in attending gigs/seeing live performances of music or art. • 55% said they were put off by tabloid magazines. • 3 common television shows came up for favourite shows: Nashville, Big Bang Theory and Friends. • 98% were atheist. • When describing there music taste, 90% said current or mainstream and 1 person said pop and indie.

  5. TARGET AUDIENCE My magazine is largely target at females. My magazine targets intellectual readers who want to think about the deeper impact of articles, so I feel a university student represents this as they have more of a passion for intellect. From my characters birthday, you can see that she is currently 19. This fits into my target audience age of 18 – 25.

  6. PERSONAL TRAITS Here is an example of the types of interests that would be typical of a ‘The Crux’ reader. Some of her activities include blogging and interning for a newspaper. This shows her intellect as well as an interest in writing herself. Her interest in gigs shows her passon for music. Her favourite music includes some very mainstream artists such as Selena Gomez that are likely to be featured in ‘The Crux’. Her favourite TV shows also revolve around music, showing how she has a passion it. The types of films she enjoys ranges from Romantic and action films that are popular with most young adults, to thought provoking films such as ‘The Help’. Similarly, she likes thoughtful books such as ‘To Kill A Mockingbird’.
