  1. Sleep Apnea: Can it Affect You?

  2. Most of us would be oblivious to the disease that affects about 34 million Indians. The disease? Sleep apnea.

  3. Snoring? That’s Normal Right! A lot of us would ignore one of the prominent signs of sleep apnea as “Oh, I think everybody snores!” Sleep apnea is a disorder that interrupts a person’s sleep because they cannot breathe. People suffering from sleep apnea tend to stop breathing for short periods while sleeping at night. Basically, this means that the mind and body gets insufficient oxygen.

  4. Sleep Apnea: Let’s Find the Types Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) - block occurs due to the soft tissue collapsing in the back of your throat. Central Sleep Apnea - happens because of the instability in the respiratory control centre. Complex Sleep Apnea Syndrome - observed in people who suffer from both the above mentioned types.

  5. Sleep Apnea: Let’s Find the Risks Certain factors can increase a person’s risk of being affected by sleep apnea. Men are about 3 times more likely to suffer from the condition. If the family has a history of sleep apnea, the risk of their children getting it increases. Older adults and middle-aged men are to be considered at a higher risk. Read More here.
