  2. Slide 1 Cover page Include • Your names • Your Crafty Science topic

  3. Slide 2 • Type your Crafty Science topic • Include details about why you chose this question. • Do you have any prior knowledge about the question? Had you seen anything on tv, internet or books about your activity? What did you know about…. • making crystals • how mushroom flowers are formed • the different types of plastics and why they shrink • chromatography • dome construction

  4. Slide 3 • Prediction • Think back to when you were first given you’re your Crafty Science project. How did you feel about your craft? Did you have any idea how it would turn out?

  5. Slide 4 Method • List the steps you took to conduct your investigation. • Refer to the information sheet on www.thescienceworkshop.weebly.com Keep your method simple. • Include any photos taken while conducting the investigation.

  6. Slide 5 • At this stage showcase your completed Craft – • Shrinky dink – can do your fashion parade • Chromatography – show audience your butterfly display on whiteboard. • Snowflakes – show off your mobiles • Geodesic domes – demonstrate how you made your dome • Mushroom flowers – draw audience attention to your vases

  7. Slide 5 Explain your findings • Refer back to your prediction from before you commenced your Crafty Science project – how does your investigation compare to your original prediction.

  8. Slide 6 Improvements • How could you improve this investigation? • What would you do better next time or what would you do differently? What problems did you encounter? • Are there any other types of craft projects you could make with this idea? • Where could you head to next with this investigation?

  9. Slide 7 Research and Final Summary • What have you learnt about your project? • Is there any research about your investigation (on the internet or at the library) that you can use to help explain your findings?

  10. Slide 8 • Thank you to the audience • And anything else that you wish to conclude with. Editing • Now go back through your presentation – do a spell check. Check that you are using the Australian spellings not US eg, colour (Aust) / color (US). • Check the background and font colours on your slides as some colours are hard to see on the IWB eg purple background with black font cannot be read easily.
