Tia tới đi qua tiêu điểm vật chính (F) hoặc có đường kéo dài đi qua thi cho tia ló song song với trục chính. 4. Tia tới song song với trục phụ thì cho tia ló đi qua tiêu điểm vật phụ ( hoặc có đường kéo dài đi qua).
