  1. One-stop-shop terminology coordination system Lithuanian Terminology Forum (LTF)

Background information One-stop-shop system A system of cooperation between national authorities and the EU translation services with the aim of enhancement the terminological and linguistic quality of translations. Aim – to have one point of entry and one point of exit for all terminology queries.

  3. Conference in Vilnius at the Parliament in December 2008 The State Commission of the Lithuanian Language (available expertise, the use of the existing structure)

Legislative framework • Law on Term Bank of the Republic of Lithuania (the State Commission of the Lithuanian Language is in charge of creation and maintenance of the national Term Bank of Lithuania) • Amendments to the Rules of Procedure of the Parliament • Government Resolution on the Procedure dealing with Terminological Queries from the EU institutions

  5. Practical issues • Contact points at the EU institutions • Communication • Form of the query

  6. Terms: governance, environmental dumping, greenwashing, backstop mechanism, carbon (water, land, material) footprint, bail-in, bail-out, etc. • 2011 – 51 queries • 2012 – 26 (till September)
