Born Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta on March 20, 1986, in New York, her love for singing began early. After participating in theater, she started mixing different music genres, creating her unique style. Her debut album, "The Fame," released in 2008, skyrocketed her to global fame. A talented singer, poet, and composer, Lady Gaga's extravagant artistry leaves no one indifferent, whether they love or hate her music.

Who do you admire? • Write the name of a modern band or solo artist that you admire • Has their music been influenced by anyone/anything? • Do they write and record their own music or play other people’s? • Do they often do live concerts? Have you seen them play live? • What was the last album they released? • Why does this music appeal to you? Is it because of: a great voice/ talented musicians/lovely melodies/good and penetrating lyrics?

  2. Read the text and make use of the expressions and phrases: • I like different singers. But I should say that one of my favorite singers is Lady Gaga.  Her images are always unpredictable. And you never know in what image she will come on the stage to sing her next song. All her songs are little performances which captivate your attention completely.

  3. The real name of this singer is Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta. She was born on March 20, 1986 in New York. She always loved singing. And she started to sing at the stage  early. She also took part in the theatre performances. Young Stefani liked experiments. She mixed different types of music. And she created her own unique image. Her first producer Rob Fusari gave her the stage name “Lady Gaga”.

  4. In 2008 Lady Gaga recorded her first album “The Fame”. Gradually she became very popular all over the world. • She’s a singer, poet and composer, she is full of contradictions. Her behavior on the stage and in the life is very extravagant. • Some people do not understand her songs and her art, some people hate her, and some people watch her with great interest. But no one remains indifferent.
