Team SAE – Speak n’ Solve Client: Adam P. • 4.5 years old • Cannot pronounce certain words coherently • Mentally stable; average intelligence for his age • Implanted ear tubes have augmented articulation to a minor extent • Enjoys popular kids’ television shows (Curious George, Clifford, etc.) • Enjoys solving jigsaw puzzles • Statement of Need: Our client needs to learn how to more effectively communicate with others.

Team SAE – Speak n’ Solve Electronics: Microcontrollers: • HM2007 • Voice recognition chip 2x • 2x Arduino • Simulates keypad input • Uses display readings to operate LED indicators Power consumption: • 5V power supply • Provided by AA batteries • 3V backup supply • Optional; for if word library is to be maintained between sessions • Provided by batteries
