This document discusses key questions regarding how the European Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction (EMCDDA) can improve its scientific profile and increase the number of publications in peer-reviewed journals. It explores the structure of EMCDDA products and suggests procedures for commissioned and internal products, with a focus on manuscript development, authorship, and journal selection. The role of the Scientific Committee in advising on publishable items and manuscript quality is also addressed.
