  2. WELCOME November 1, 2010 Dear Athletes, Coaches, Officials and Parents – Welcome to the 2011 FIS FREESTLE NORAM CUP. The NorAm Cup is the stepping stone and training ground to the big show, the WORLD CUP. Acting as both an access point and holding area to the best developing skiers in the America’s and the World, the FIS Freestyle NorAm Cup has events in all FIS Freestyle disciplines – Ski Cross, Moguls, Dual Moguls, Ski Halfpipe, Aerials and Ski Slopestyle(2012). My goal is to assure that your experience at this level of freestyle skiing is safe, fair and fun. I work closely with USSA, CFSA, the representing officials and the Local Organizers to assure we are as well prepared to operate a competition as you are to compete. November 12, 2010 Welcome Ski Friends, On behalf of the Organizing Committee, we are pleased to invite your athletes to attend the 2011 NorAm Ski Cross Competitions in Collingwood, Ontario on February 12th and 13th, 2011. The competition will be held in accordance with the International Ski competition Rules (I. C. R.) of the FIS. All National Associations or Federations affiliated to the FIS are invited to participate in the competition.   4. World Snowsports Event Group is pleased to invite all freestyle nations and their athletes to attend the NorAm Ski Cross as part of the 2010-2011 FIS Freestyle NorAm Cup. The Organizing Committee will host the event in accordance with the International Freestyle Ski Competition Rules (I.C.R.) of the FIS, the FIS Continental Cup Rules and operated in accordance with the NorAm Standard Operating Procedures.   5. REGISTRATION The registration will take place starting on Friday, February 11th, from 09:00--21:00. Prior to hotel check-in, teams are required to go directly to the Race Office located in the Grand Central Base Lodge (http://conferences.bluemountain.ca/grand_central_lodge.htm). Race Office hours will be from 07:00 to 19:00 from Friday, February 11 to Sunday, February 13. A designated team representative must pay the base entry fee of $150.00 Cdn per participant upon registration. Entry fee includes the NorAm Tour Fee ($7.50 per start). Credit card or cash can make payment in Canadian dollars. LIFT TICKETS Blue Mountain Resort offers reduced ticket prices to athletes and team officials. Participants must pick-up discount ticket vouchers at the Race Office to be redeemed at ticket booths. •MC/Visa accepted •Race office opens at 7am daily •Ticket price $30.00 Cdn + taxes

Basic Event Program: February 11th: Friday - Arrivals February 12th: Saturday - NorAm Official Training/Qualifying/Finals February 13th: Sunday - NorAm Competition Day/Departure for some athletes and teams February 14th: Monday - Departure Day for remaining athletes and teams Transportation: Transportation from the Toronto airport to Blue Mountain located 7km west of Collingwood, Ontario, is the responsibility of the individual teams. The drive is approximately 2 hours, and directions can be found at: http://www.bluemountain.ca/directions/toronto_airport.html

Accommodations: Accommodation will be at the Holiday Inn Collingwood (http://www.collingwood-hotels.com/photos_collingwood.html), or the Blue Mountain Inn (http://www.bluemountain.ca/lodging_blue_inn_1.htm). We have negotiated with each of the hotels to guarantee a block of rooms at the rates published above. Many of the Teams attending the World Cup will also participate in the NorAm. To ensure availability at these rates you must book early. We will be operating on a first come, first serve basis. Registration is due January 12, 2011. By February 3, 2011, we will be releasing our rooms back to the hotel(s) and market rate will apply. Accommodation must be paid in full upon check-in with the hotel. No payment will be accepted by the OC. Each team will be responsible for any damage incurred during their stay.
  8. Team Captains Meeting: Team captain’s meeting will be held across from the Race Office located in the Grand Central Base Lodge (http://conferences.bluemountain.ca/grand_central_lodge.htm). First Team Captains meeting will be held on Friday, February 11, 2011 at 18:00. Attendance mandatory. Statement of Medical Plan: The Medical Plan is available at the Race Office and will be provided at Registration. Bibs: All competitors must wear bibs during all official training, competition and award ceremonies. $25 Cdn dollars (cash only) deposit per bib will be charged upon registration. Bibs must be returned after the event to receive deposit back.
  9. Statement of Liability: All athletes, officials and other members of their National Association who attend and participate in the event shall do so at their own risk. The Organizing Committee, The Resort, the National Ski Association, sponsors and suppliers, their agents, employees and volunteers shall not be held responsible for any losses or injuries incurred or suffered by any athlete, official or other person in conjunction with the organization or staging of the event. All participants are urged not to be negligent in safeguarding their personal belongings at all times. The aforementioned parties will take no responsibility for missing belongings. (Note: Please fill in the areas in italics with the proper names based on location.) Accident Insurance: Every competitor must have his/her own medical insurance in accordance with FIS ICR Rule 204.2. The Organizing Committee, Sponsors, Suppliers, Ski Resort, the National Ski Association and the FIS decline any responsibility for accidents, damaged equipment and second and third party claims during the event. (Note: the italic areas). Accident Protocol: In the case of accidents on courses during the event, medical personnel from the Organizing Committee and Ski Patrol personnel will be responsible for any medical decision or evacuation to the local hospital in co-operation with the National Associations’ medical personnel identified on the entry form.
