  2. Purpose of Conference • Will provide an update on Wyre Together achievements since March 2012 • We will invite guest speakers who will provide information about their work • And finally, we will confirm the future actions for Wyre Together

  3. Background • Managed by Blackpool, Wyre and Fylde CVS (Council for Voluntary Services) • To work together to develop an effective engagement, consultation and communication mechanism for all Wyre groups. • Launched June 2010 • Now got 140 groups

  4. Some of the members • Age Uk Blackpool & District, Age Uk Lancashire • Alzheimers Society • Barnados • Carer’s Point/Help Direct/Ncompass • Creative Support • Churches Together • Friends of the Memorial Park, Fleetwood • Great Places Housing Group • Thornton Action Group • Motor Neurone Disease Association • Journey 3 Recover • Play Inclusion Project • Rossall Beach Residents Association • Signing in the Community • Refurb • Poulton People’s Choir • Strike Association • Sure Start Fleetwood • UR Potential • Wyre Seniors Forum • Plus 120 others covering all diversities and geographical locations

  6. Task Groups • Will provide update for each of the task group and their actions

Volunteering Task Group • Developing a volunteering charter • Will be piloted February- March and launched April 2013 • 2nd version of Wyre Volunteering Strategy • Will be signed off today • Held Volunteering Information Event • Learning Experience for future events • Best Practices Report finalised and distributed • Available on Wyre Together website

  8. Promotion/Publicity • 2012 Showcase Event – September • Great networking and promotional event, also open to the general public • Always looking at ways to work together and support each other – • task group to be set up March 2013, all ideas welcome

  9. Natural Environment • Working with Wyre Council to develop a Natural Environment web page • Purpose to create a stronger link across the different groups that work to promote our beautiful countryside • We will aim to promote the work of local groups and include a featured group

Community Engagement • Information Event held August 2012 to highlight 3 key topics:- • Clinical Commissioning Groups • The Police Crime Commissioner Elections • Wyre Councils Shaping Your Neighbourhood proposals • Attended by 48 people • 2nd Information Event to be planned March/April – lets make this even bigger!

  11. Compact Agreement • Each district required to have a Compact Agreement to confirm how engagement, consultation and communication is carried out • Initial meeting held May 2012 • Decision made to wait for Lancashire Compact Agreement and adapt this for Wyre

  12. Children, Young People & Families Forum • Became Wyre and Fylde Together task group in July 2012 • Providing more information as guest speaker today

  13. One Lancashire • Wyre Together is working closely with One Lancashire • Lead Accountable Body SELNET - Social Enterprise Solutions will be providing a presentation today • Providing more information as guest speaker today

  14. Publicity/Promotion • Regular articles included in local press • Monthly newsletter issued • Presentations and talks • Good working relationship with Wyre Council and other statutory partners • Represent third sector at number of meetings • Now on Facebook!!

  15. Website • Website – www.wyretogether.org • Now had over 107,000 visitors • Includes members news, events, jobs, featured group of the month, funding, newsletters, action plans • Can run off report, analyse data/usage

  16. Wyre Together Awards • Developed to recognise and acknowledge local achievements • 6 categories • Best Volunteer (Adult) • Best Young Volunteer • Best Volunteer Team • Best Neighbour • Best Community Group • Volunteering Despite Adversity • Closing date 14th December – this Friday!

  17. What next? • So those are some of Wyre Together’s achievements since March 2012 • Following the talks I will provide an update on our future actions
