Graduation Requirements • English 4 units • Math 4 units • minimum Math I, II and III, Math>Math III Unless 4 credits (including Math I and II with Math Substitution plan) • Science 3 units • Earth/Environmental, Biology, Physical Science • Humanities 4 units • World History, Civics and Economics, American I and II • Health/ PE 1 unit • Electives 10 units • At least 26 total credits AND Community Service 25 hours per year at Broughton ** Graduation Requirements are different than University Minimum Admission Requirements (MAR)

UNC System Minimum Admission Requirements (MAR) • English 4 units • Math 4 units • Math I, II, III, and Math>Math III • Science 3 units • Earth/Environmental, Biology, Physical Science • Humanities 4 units • World History, Civics and Economics, American I and II • Health/ PE 1 unit • World Languages 2 units • Same language • Electives 8 units • At least 26 total credits • Starting in the Fall of 2013, students admitted to the UNC system will show a minimum of 2.5 high school GPA and at least 800 on the SAT or 17 on the ACT. • Private colleges may have different admission requirements. Students should consult college websites for additional information.

Did you know? • Institutional aid is a major component of awards programs at private colleges and universities. • More than 90% of the students on some campuses receive financial aid. • Independent colleges and universities in North Carolina provided more than $580 million in institutional aid in 2012-2013, which equates to 43% of the total financial assistance received by students at North Carolina’s independent colleges and universities. • North Carolina students at independent colleges and universities receive more than $83 million in need-based financial aid from the state. Testing Scores - SAT/ACT • SAT/ACT scores must be sent directly from testing agency • Register on line: • www.collegeboard.org • www.act.org • Select 4 colleges to receive scores when registering for free • Charges for all other scores ($11) • When do results come back? • How do colleges get scores – who sends it? • How to cancel a score • Accommodations – require a separate submission many weeks ahead for consideration (through Mr. Sauls) • SAT/ACT fee waivers- see Mr. Sauls

  23. Official Transcript – Fall 2015 Updated Official GPA/Rank for seniors will be available as of Sept. 23rd Directions for sending Transcripts: • Common App • Student must invite their counselor to be a recommender and they will send your transcript. These transcripts are free of charge.

Official Transcripts • In state (Schools not on Common App) • Transcript will be sent by the student through CFNC.org account. • Check your profile to make sure your name is spelled correctly, the same way it appears on your report card/transcript and that your student ID number is entered in. If you do not remember your log in or do not have one, see your counselor. Do NOT create a new account. These transcripts are free of charge. • Out of state • Go to https://wcpss.scriborder.com/. Click on Request Transcripts and Student Records, click on All Other Requests and follow prompts. First three requests are free. After the third request, transcripts will cost $5. Payment through website. • Scholarship & College Coaches • Students need to fill out the GREEN Request for Transcript Authorization Form (available in Student Services or the Broughton website under “Forms”). Our registrar, Ms. Wall will mail your official transcript. These transcripts are free of charge.

Senior Exam Exemptions *All students are required to take NC mandated exams (EOC and CTE Post-Assessment) Seniors can be exempt from final exams for non-state mandated courses if: • No more than 3 excused absences and earn an “A” • No more than 2 excused absences and earn a “B” • No more than 1 excused absence and earn a “C” *Students must have no unexcused absences
